SAIL to host ADA Celebration in Downtown Glens Falls

Southern Adirondack Independent Living (SAIL), in partnership with the Glens Falls Collaborative, will host its annual ADA Day Celebration on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in downtown Glens Falls as part of the community's popular Take a Bite event.

Held each July, ADA Day commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), landmark civil rights legislation that prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability and has helped transform access to employment, transportation, public accommodations, government services, and community life for millions of Americans since becoming law in 1990.

This year's celebration brings together the energy of Take a Bite with an opportunity to recognize the importance of accessibility and inclusion throughout the community. Visitors will enjoy the event's participating restaurants and businesses while also connecting with local nonprofit organizations, and exploring disability resources.

More than three decades after the ADA became law, barriers still exist for many people with disabilities. ADA Day serves as both a celebration of the law's lasting impact and a reminder that advancing accessibility requires continued partnership, advocacy, and community engagement.

Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend this free event, meet local organizations working to advance inclusion, and learn more about the resources available throughout the region.
