SAIL Strengthens School Partnerships with Appointment of Education Leader Brian George to Board
Queensbury, New York – Southern Adirondack Independent Living (SAIL) has announced the appointment of Brian George to its Board of Directors, strengthening the organization’s leadership as it expands its partnerships with schools and works to ensure students with disabilities and their families have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
George serves as Superintendent of Abraham Wing School in Glens Falls and brings extensive experience in educational leadership, student development, advocacy, and community partnership to SAIL’s Board.
His appointment comes at a pivotal time for SAIL as the organization continues to strengthen relationships with school districts throughout the region and expand its work supporting students and families. As an Independent Living Center (ILC), SAIL works alongside individuals, families, schools, and community partners to address barriers to independence and ensure people with disabilities have meaningful opportunities to participate fully in their communities.
George’s perspective as a school superintendent will be particularly valuable as SAIL continues developing stronger connections with schools and identifying opportunities to support students with disabilities both inside and outside of the classroom.

The relationship between independent living services and education is an important component of SAIL’s broader work. By partnering with schools, SAIL can help connect students and families with resources related to disability advocacy, independent living skills, assistive technology, transition planning, community resources, and other supports that can help young people build greater independence as they move through school and into adulthood.
As SAIL continues to deepen these relationships, George’s experience in school leadership provides an important connection between the organization’s work and the educational communities it serves.
George holds a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from the State University of New York at Brockport and a master’s degree in elementary education from the College of St. Joseph.
His addition to the Board comes as SAIL continues to grow its reach and partnerships across the North Country and Capital Region, with a continued focus on ensuring people with disabilities have the tools, resources, and opportunities to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
George’s appointment to the SAIL Board of Directors is effective immediately.
